An Update!

It’s been quiet for a little while at the Edit Bay, but hopefully there will be something to show soon. Still a long way away from being a finished film, but we’ve been waiting for the snow to leave before filming a few pickups that are greatly needed. Trying to avoid filming on a green screen…since most of the things we have in the movie happen to be green! Thanks for all the support and interest to everyone!

The Teaser Trailer for Dead River.

New Year Update!

The trailer is taking a bit longer to refine than expected, with color correcting and text design going on this week and most likely part of the weekend.  Stay tuned for a trailer announcement soon!

I also received an original poem from Mara Ranger that is based on the lore of Dead River which will make its way hopefully into the film at different points!  It is a very exciting year filled with opportunities to really develop the look and feel of the film.  Thank-you all for your interest and support!

Trailer Update

I know it’s been quiet lately, so I thought I’d offer up a small update.

Music for the Dead River trailer is cut together, and I expect to be working on the visuals this week.  Aiming for a polished trailer a little before Christmas.  Stay tuned!

Fund Raising Update

So far, Dead River has raised $10 by collecting bottles and cans!  Thank-you to all who have been giving up your returnables for this cause.  The money will be put towards purchasing music for the title sequence and throughout the film as a whole.

Thank-you for helping to make this production stronger!

Production Diary - Part 1

Saturday, September 24, 2011
(Location - Sherwood Dr., Waterboro)

The day started out early after a late night of last minute storyboards scribbled on pieces of thrown away fliers from the Cinemagic at Clark’s Pond.  These were done as a last-ditch effort on my part to present something visual to my actors and Production Manager for a large location shoot I’d been mulling over in my imagination for at least two weeks.  The shoot would involve the Flagstaff river located in Somerset some few hours North from where we would be physically shooting.  Unable to realistically travel to Flagstaff, we settled on filming at the Square Pond Community Beach in Shapleigh.  According to town records from Flagstaff, in 1949 the Central Maine Power Co. opted to create a dam that would bring about the lake now known as Flagstaff.  It is an enormous man-made lake, so large in fact that in order to create it no less than two settlements had to be left to disintegrate beneath the surface.  Dead River was one of those towns and is, subsequently, the working title of our film.
